Megan Marsden

I was raised in Orange County, California and  did work as an illustrator for magazines and cookbooks before training as an artist at the Putney School of Art in London and at the College of Art, Delhi, India. After living overseas for some years I returned to the USA in 2005 and began painting animals - dogs and cats mainly, but also horses and birds.

I paint portraits of  dogs, cats and other animals from all parts but especially from Southern California including Los Angeles County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, Orange County and San Diego County. Many of my paintings are memorial portraits from  favorite photographs.

I exhibited at the Orange County Fair between 2008 and 2012, winning commendations in the first two years and first prize for professional acrylic painting in 2010 for my portrait of a chihuahua.  In 2009 I was awarded first prize for works in acrylics at a City of Laguna Beach art exhibition.

For several years I have donated paintings to animal rescue groups, including the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, Laguna Beach.

In December 2013 my work was featured in Orange County's Coast magazine.
