On this page I show progress with the paintings I am working on at the moment. When I am painting pets I generally do an outline first and then I work on the head, starting with the eyes. After I have finished the rest of the body I add in the background.
I am this week starting work on a portrait of Scooby (below), companion to Chloe (featured at the bottom of this page) and I am finishing a big painting of three corgis (below Scooby on this page).
Now for the three corgis:
As usual, after completing an outline in blue pencil I have started with the eyes and then followed with the heads. Getting the eyes right is the key to a successful painting.

The final version (below) has had its background adjusted to suit the room in which it will be hung:
The puggle I painted some time ago (below) is called Chloe.
